Quarterback Wyatt Smith threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for a TD as the Navo eighth-grade “A” team rolled to a 42-6 victory over the Calhoun Cougars on Tuesday night.
Smith connected with Dylan Burnham on a 40-yard scoring toss and later hit Marc Ibarra with a 2-yard TD pass. Smith also ran 12 yards for a score.
Ty Bartlett scored on runs of 8 and 26 yards, Damajai Brown scored on a 4-yard run and Journal Williams ran 4 yards for a touchdown. Steven Richardson was the Tigers’ leading receiver with four catches for 72 yards.
Myers ‘A’ 37, Harpool 20
Khalon Davis passed for one touchdown and ran for two and Kalib Hicks ran for two TDs to lead the Myers Titans to victory over the Harpool Longhorns.
Davis had TD runs of 10 and 3 yards, while he connected with Mar’Quice Hill on a 30-yard scoring pass. Hicks, who finished with 130 yards rushing on five carries, had scoring runs of 50 and 55 yards.
Kyler Spencer closed out the Longhorn scoring when he recovered a fumble and returned it 85 yards for a touchdown. Mario Bellamy had an interception for Harpool (3-0) and Chance Scott blocked an extra point.
Myers ‘B’ 17, Harpool 8
Kadyllak Rubio ran for two touchdowns, Isaac Bethea added an extra point and Brody Quillin ran in a 1-point conversion as the Myers Titans defeated Harpool.
Alberto Salinas turned in a strong performance defensively with a big hit that led to a safety as Myers improved to 3-0.
McMath ‘A’ 6, Strickland 6
Quarterback Tristian Strange threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Chucky Holbert as the McMath Tigers and Strickland Vikings battled to a tie.
Strange finished with 40 yards passing while Jonathan Weaver had 46 yards rushing, a 45-yard kickoff return, a 30-yard punt return, five tackles and one sack. Sebastin Berlinga had five tackles.
Crownover ‘B’ 14, Lake Dallas 0
Jack Bradley scored on touchdown runs of 50 and 40 yards and added one PAT kick as Crownover blanked Lake Dallas.
Wyatt Storey had a fumble recovery and Cael Perkins an interception for the Cowboys (1-1).
Navo ‘A’ 33, Calhoun 8
Reymundo Izaguirre rushed for three touchdowns and Caleb Thomas scored two defensive touchdowns as the Navo Panthers picked up their first win with a rout of the Calhoun Cougars.
Izaguirre scored on runs of 70, 35 and 22 yards and finished with 179 yards on 12 carries. Thomas returned an interception 35 yards for a score and later forced a Calhoun fumble and returned it 31 yards for a TD.
Navo is now 1-2.
Harpool ‘A’ 22, Myers 0
Caleb Rowe scored two touchdowns to lead the Harpool Longhorns to a shutout of the Myers Titans.
Rowe scored on runs of 3 and 21 yards while Austin Correia caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Max Hornsby for the other Longhorn touchdown. Kegan Stelmazewski and Matthew Kwon added conversion runs as Harpool improved to 3-0.
Hornsby was 5-of-6 passing for 98 yards and also intercepted a pass. Eli Reynoso had one sack for a safety.
Harpool ‘B’ 26, Myers 0
Corbin Mobley threw for two touchdowns and ran for one in Harpool’s win over Myers.
Brady Gilbert and Evan Flores were on the receiving end of Mobley’s TD passes, while Kyle Nichols added a touchdown run for the 3-0 Longhorns.
Little Elm ‘A’ 30, Rodriguez 0
Andrew Grissom, Elijah Taylor and Kevin Thomas had outstanding games for the Rodriguez Vipers in their loss to Little Elm.
Little Elm ‘B’ 34, Rodriguez 0
Little Elm was just too much for the Rodriguez Vipers in a shutout decision. Ryder Fanniel was outstanding for Rodriguez (0-3).
Strickland ‘A’ 27, McMath 0
Strickland recorded a shutout in its win over the McMath Tigers.
Jacob Coffman had a fumble recovery for McMath, Tre’ Bates had four tackles and Brandon Neal had a pass breakup.
Strickland ‘B’ 12, McMath 6
The Strickland Vikings held on for a six-point win over McMath.
Aiden Anderson scored McMath’s touchdown on a 45-yard run and finished with 61 yards on five carries. Brighton Caruthers had 10 yards passing and 20 yards rushing for the Tigers (0-3), while Robert Leger had an interception, Misael Galaviz recovered a fumble and Jaden Rekanovic recorded one sack.
