STEPHENVILLE — Krum’s hot start to the season has been somewhat of a surprise after an 18-13 record in 2018. The Lady Bobcats were decimated by injuries last season and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Stephenville.
Krum is now 7-1 on the season with a victory over Class 3A No. 9 Brock and wins against three Class 5A schools.
On Tuesday, Krum avenged its 2018 postseason loss after sweeping the Honeybees in straight sets (28-26, 25-20, 25-13).
The Lady Bobcats grabbed momentum early in the match after squeaking out a 28-26 victory in the opening set. After the first set, Krum dominated to the finish.
Paige Orsi and Payton Lucas led the Lady Bobcat offense with 15 kills and 12 kills, respectively. Reese Robinson also contributed 11 kills while Madeline Guffy added a team-high 24 assists.
Krum will be back in action on Thursday at the Justin Northwest tournament.
