The Argyle bench cheers after their team scores against opponent, Decatur, at Argyle High School.

After rattling off seven wins during the first week of the season, Argyle jumped to No. 4 in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 4A poll.

The Lady Eagles knocked off Liberty Christian in the season opener last Tuesday and then went 6-1 at the Duncanville tournament over the weekend to finish second. Argyle's only loss came to Midlothian Heritage — 4A semifinalists from a year ago — in the championship match.

The Lady Eagles enter Tuesday's game against Fort Worth Brewer sporting a 7-1 record. Argyle has been without starters Kiley Lavelle and Mariah Hesselgesser due to injury, but is expected to get the duo back in the coming weeks.

Sanger, which opened the year at No. 7 in the 4A poll, fell out of the rankings after going 4-3 last week. The Lady Indians beat Edgewood, Callisburg, Caddo Mills and Nocona, but lost to Bowie, Paschal and Plano West JV.
