THE COLONY — Three runs in the final two innings pushed Braswell past The Colony 7-6 on Tuesday evening.

Four Braswell batters had two hits and Mario Lopez had three hits with two RBIs in the win, as those five accounted for all 11 Bengal hits.

Braswell left nine runners on base but was able to keep pressure on The Colony throughout the contest.

Four pitchers took the mound for at least three outs for Braswell, combining to allow seven hits and five earned runs. Nic Bennett went in to close out the game in the seventh.

The Bengals return to the diamond Friday for their final regular-season game, against The Colony at home.

Several games postponed

The Ryan at Lake Dallas game was postponed to Thursday night due to the concern of inclement weather.

Argyle postponed its Springtown game until Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Gunter and Ponder stopped in the bottom of the fifth with Gunter leading 3-0. The game was suspended.

Whitesboro 3, Pilot Point 2 (8)

WHITESBORO — Pilot Point lost in walk-off fashion Monday night at Whitesboro in eight innings.

It was a pitchers’ duel between the Bearcats’ Collin Haynes and Whitesboro’s Scout Sanders, as the two combined to throw 223 pitches.

Haynes allowed six hits and three walks while conceding one earned run, and Sanders allowed six hits, no walks and two earned runs.

Pilot Point batters struck out 14 times but had chances late in the game.
