In a battle of unbeatens, Crownover’s eighth grade A-team used a strong defensive effort to take a 14-0 victory against Myers on Wednesday night.

Caleb Cowen, Si Stovall, Ivan Pena, Jaydn Fritsch led the defensive effort for the Cowboys (7-0). Myers is now 6-1.

Blake Courtney hit Sutton Lee with a 22-yard touchdown pass, and Ryan Yaites scored on a 1-yard run with Pena adding the extra point kick to account for the Crownover scoring.

Crownover ‘B’ 6, Myers 0

Brandon Flores scored on a 26-yard run to lead the Cowboys to the shutout win.

Jordan Waggoner had a interception, and Samuel Burke was a standout on the Crownover (5-2) defense.

Harpool ‘A’ 46, Calhoun 0

Five plays scored for Harpool in its shutout victory.

Chris Klein led the scoring barrage with touchdown runs of 1 and 31 yards, Anthony Benford scored on a 41-yard run, Jackson Arnold ran 47yards for a touchdown and hit Mike Kanu with a 44-yard scoring pass, and Cole Rattan returned a interception 34 yards for a score. Cam Posada was good on four extra points, and Matthew Spivey had one.

Klein led the rushing attack for the Longhorns (6-1) with 69 yards, Benford finished with 56 yards and Jackson had 51 yards on the ground and 53 yards passing.

Lake Dallas ‘A’ 26, Navo 12

Navo quarterback Wyatt Smith threw for a touchdown and ran for one in the Panthers’ loss.

Smith, who finished the night with 124 yards passing, hit Dylan Burnham with a 25-yard scoring pass and later scored on a 14-yard run as Navo fell to 4-3.

Damajai Brown led the defensive effort with eight tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble. Blake Fann had nine tackles, two for loss, and two sacks. Ty Bartlett was Navo’s top rusher with 84 yards on 14 carries.

Lake Dallas ‘B’ 26, Navo 8

Mathew Rodas returned a kickoff 77 yards for Navo’s lone score.

Nehemiah McCain was the Panthers (3-3) top rusher with 84 yards on 10 carries, and Ethan Ledezma led the defense with seven tackles and two sacks.

Little Elm ‘A’ 30, McMath 0

McMath saw its record slip to 0-6-1 with the loss.

Guillermo Gonzales led the Tigers defense with a onside kick recovery and four tackles, Max Turner and Bryce Ashbaugh had three tackles each and Sebastian Berlinga and Tristan Strange had two tackles each.

Seventh grade

Crownover ‘A’ 36, Myers 6

Eli Bowen scored four touchdowns, and Issac Baronas hit four extra points as Crownover improved to 5-2.

Bowen scored on runs of 5, 13 and 50 yards and returned a interception 45 yards for a touchdown. Pierson Rougeau hit Nathaniel Hernandez with a 15-yard scoring pass for the other Cowboys touchdown.

Trey Joyner finished the night with 100 yards rushing for the Cowboys while Rougeau had 75 yards rushing and 50 yards passing. Tristian Gonzalez led the Crownover defense with three pass breakups while Zach Baudo, Darian Garrett, Joseph Morales and Aris Richards were singled out for their play.

Little Elm ‘A’ 54, McMath 0

Tre’ Bates had three tackles for losses, and Hayden Gunter had two tackles for losses and one sack for McMath.

Milford Kamara led the Tigers with 87 yards rushing and had two big hits on defense as the Tigers fell to 1-6.

Little Elm also won the B-team game 34-0.

Lake Dallas ‘A’ 31, Navo 7

Caleb Thomas hit Tristan Ballard with a 12-yard pass scoring pass for Navo’s only touchdown.

Defensive end Eli Stokes led the Panthers defense with 12 tackles, two pass deflections and one forced fumble while Maurice Bryant had seven tackles, two for a loss. Thomas finished the game as Navo’s (2-5) leading rushing with 77 yards on six carries.

Navo ‘B’ 0, Lake Dallas 0

Navo’s Austin Okoli had six tackles and two sacks, and Jordan Craddick had four tackles, two tipped passes and a fumble recovery as the Panthers and Lake Dallas battled to a scoreless tie.

Tristan Goliday led the Panthers (3-2-1) in rushing with 67 yards on eight carries.
