Jace Wilson poured in 28 points as the Crownover eighth-grade "A" team returned from the Christmas break to defeat the Rodriguez Vipers 48-27 on Thursday night.

Crownover (3-1) raced out to a 23-9 first-quarter lead and held a 35-17 halftime edge. Grayson O'Bara followed Wilson in scoring with 11 points and Davonte King added nine.

The Cowboys also used a big first quarter in the B-team game to take a 23-7 lead en route to a 58-28 win against Rodriguez. Dirk Falkenhagen led the scoring for Crownover (3-1) with 16. Carson Hagan had 11 and Eastyn Kinderknecht finished with nine.

Jaxon Pirtle scored 13 points, Chimka Okere had 12 and Macellus Colley nine as Crownover (4-0) dominated Rodriguez in the C-team game 52-2.

Rodriguez girls at Crownover

The Crownover Lady Cowboys "A" team picked up its first victory with a 58-15 win against the Rodriguez Lady Vipers.

Bre Jackson led the scoring for the Lady Cowboys with 15 points.

Harpool girls at Navo

The Harpool Lady Longhorns "A" team used a combination of strong shooting and pressing defense to score a 52-14 victory against Navo.

Harpool (6-1) took command early and built a 33-8 advantage by halftime. Alisa Williams led the Lady Longhorns with 19 points while Hayden Colson had 12 points and Sissly Stephens finished with seven points, three assist and four steals.

In the B-team game, Laura Avila scored eight points, Julianna Cutting had five and Lilly Galavize four as Harpool (4-0) defeated Navo 28-8.

McMath boys at Lake Dallas

Lake Dallas held the McMath "A" team scoreless in the third quarter to pull away for a 31-21 victory.

The Tigers (1-3) trailed 14-9 at halftime but could not score in the third period as Lake Dallas extended its lead. Nate Newton and Ryan Cooper led the Tiger scoring with six points apiece and Jason Carer added five.

In the B-team game, McMath evened its record at 2-2 with a 34-15 win against Lake Dallas. Josh Billups paced the Tiger scoring with 11 points while Dominic Wilson finished with eight and Ryan Wilkins had six.

Lake Dallas used a late basket to pull out a 15-13 win against McMath in the C-team game. Nick Fox led the Tigers with four points and Drew McLaughlin added three.

The Lake Dallas "A" team dominated McMath from the beginning in a 38-9 victory. Abby Folsom and Landry Wilkins led the Lady Tigers (2-2) with three points apiece.

Lake Dallas jumped out to a first-quarter lead and pulled away for in 24-6 win against McMath in the B-team game. Raegan Sullivan led McMath (4-4) with four points.

Kylie Williams scored six and Caitlyn Moore had four for McMath in its 20-10 loss to Lake Dallas in the C-team game.

Seventh grade

Harpool girls at Navo

Madison Lumsden and Raina Akbar led the way as the Harpool Lady Longhorns ran their A-team record to 7-0 with a 54-7 win over the Navo Lady Panthers.

Harpool raced out to a 19-3 first-quarter lead and held a 36-3 advantage at halftime. Lumsden had a game-high 16 points and Akbar finished with 14.

The Harpool "B" team also maintained its perfect record at 4-0 with a 35-8 triumph against the Lady Panthers. Reese Decker led the scoring for the Lady Longhorns with eight, Abigail Holder had seven, Abby LoBello six and Lillian Marker five.

Harpool grabbed an early lead and scored a 16-10 win in the C-team game. Brady DeLeon had six points and Hayden Brock finished with four for the Lady Horns (3-1).

Rodriguez girls at Crownover

The Crownover Lady Cowboys used a big second-quarter burst to pull away for a 34-13 win against the Rodriguez Lady Vipers.

Crownover held a two-point advantage after the first quarter before outscoring Rodriguez 16-2 in the second to break open the game.

Kaylie Morgan led the scoring for the Lady Cowboys (3-1) with 15 and Mariah Watson added 12.

In the B-team game, Crownover held Rodriguez scoreless for two quarters to pull away for a 39-3 win. Cayelee Clark led the Lady Cowboys (4-0) with nine points and G'yordan Curtis finished with six.

Crownover, led by the strong defensive play of Kate Weatherly, remained unbeaten with a 12-7 win in the C-game against Rodriguez.

Crownover got 13 points from Payton Bowen, and Ivan Pena and Sutton Lee had 10 apiece as the Cowboys "A" team rolled to a 48-32 win over the Rodriguez Vipers.

Crownover remained unbeaten with a 4-0 record.

The Cowboys built a 16-point first-half lead en route to a 50-11 victory over the Vipers in the B-team game. Ryan Yaites had 16 points to lead Crownover (4-0) while Jadyn Fritsch and Akintola Akinniyi had eight points apiece.

Crownover held Rodriguez scoreless in the first half to pull away for a 22-8 victory in the C-team game. Collin Garrett led the Cowboys (3-1) with five points and Hank Nokes added four.

Little Elm boys at Myers

Jordyn Bailey scored 11 points for the Myers Titans in their 66-35 loss to Little Elm in the A-team game.

Little Elm outscored Myers 10-5 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 38-32 victory in the B-team game. Brody Quillin had 12 points to lead the Titans.

Cash Conner scored nine points to lead the Myers "C" team to a 17-15 victory against Little Elm.

McMath boys at Lake Dallas

Lake Dallas bolted out to a 19-0 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 54-27 win against McMath in an A-team game. Bryce Ashbaugh led the Tigers (2-2) with 11 points. Noah Rodriguez added five.

The Tigers were held to one point in the first half of the B-team game as Lake Dallas rolled to a 48-7 win. Ryan McClurg led the Tigers with four points.

Christian Schmuhl scored five points and Isaiah Linson had four points in McMath's 28-16 loss to Lake Dallas in the C-team game.
