The unbeaten Myers A-team eighth-graders, behind the scoring of Ky’lie Pitts, totally dominated the Lake Dallas Lady Falcons in the opening round of the postseason district tournament Thursday night.

The Lady Titans (9-0) held Lake Dallas scoreless in the first half to build a 17-0 lead en route to a 35-5 triumph to advance to today’s second round.

Pitts led the scoring for Myers with 14 points while Grace Wilson and Kendyl Kohnfelder had four apice.

Harpool eighth-grade ‘A’ 26, Little Elm 21

The Harpool Lady Longhorns used a swarming defensive effort in the fourth quarter to hold Little Elm scoreless and rally for a 26-21 victory.

The Lady Longhorns (8-6) trailed 21-20 heading into the final quarter before outscoring Little Elm 6-0 in the final six minutes for the victory.

Charlotte Pyle led the Harpool scoring with 13 points while Sierra Winder finished with seven and Kate Hanlon had three.

Boys

Little Elm eighth-grade ‘A’ 54, McMath 27

The McMath Tigers saw their season come to an end with a 58-31 loss to Little Elm.

The Tigers (2-6) were led by Kyle York with eight points. D’Shaun Howard scored seven points and Josue Jimenez had six for McMath.

McMath seventh-grade ‘A’ 38, Navo 30

The McMath Tigers evened their season record at 4-4 and advanced to the second round of the district tournament with a 38-30 win against the Navo Panthers.

The Tigers’ Nick Edwards led all scorers with 17 points while Landry Kinne added 14 and Marcellus Lockley finished with five.
