The McMath eighth-grade A-team demonstrated a wealth of patience, and it paid huge dividends when Megan Fleitman scored with just less two minutes remaining to give the Tigers their first and only lead in the game, and it held up for a 28-27 win against Navo on Thursday night.

The Lady Tigers trailed by as many as nine points early in the game but continued to clip away. McMath outscored Navo 11-4 in the final period to rally for the win. Abby Folsom led the Lady Tigers (4-2) with 12 points, Kanisia Haley had five and Fleitman finished with four.

The Lady Tigers (4-2) claimed a 27-25 victory in the B-team game as Raegan Sullivan led the way with four points.

Crownover boys at Strickland

Strickland outscored Crownover 30-15 in the second and third quarters that enabled them to take a 47-40 victory against the Cowboys.

Jace Wilson led the Cowboys (3-3) with 16 points, Collin Knapp had nine and Chandler Pullam had eight.

Carson Hagan scored 16 points, and the Cowboys rolled to a 50-17 victory against Strickland in the B-team game. John Demcher scored nine points, Trevor Hunter had seven and Eastyn Kinderknecht added six as Crownover improved to 5-1.

In the C-team game, Crownover remained unbeaten at 6-0 with a 34-6 rout of Strickland. Jaxon Pirtle led the Cowboys with 10 points, Conner League had six and Jacob Amriz and Bryler Nitcholas had four each.

Navo boys at McMath

Navo jumped out to a 21-8 first half lead and coasted to a 42-21 victory.

Jason Carter led the Tigers (1-5) with six points and Javaan Evans had five.

The Panthers rallied from behind in the B-team game to pull out a 30-24 victory against McMath as Ethan Hewell and Ryan Wilkins led the Tigers (3-3) with seven points each.

Navo made it a clean sweep by winning the C-team game 18-3.

Harpool girls at Little Elm

Harpool ran its season record to 12-0 after rallying from an early deficit for a 36-28 win.

The Lady Horns trailed after the opening quarter but rallied in the second period to take a 18-10 halftime lead. Sophia Placke led the Harpool scoring with 11 points, Madison Lumsden had nine and Katelyn Jones finished with eight.

Little Elm used a fourth-quarter rally to tie the game at 19 and force overtime in the B-team game before Harpool held Little Elm scoreless in the extra period for a 22-19 win.

Harpool (6-0) was led by Abigail Holder and Lillian Marker with six points each.

The Lady Longhorns jumped out to a 10-0 first quarter lead and cruised to a 23-6 win against Little Elm in the C-team game.

Brandy DeLeon had six points and Destiny Meria had five to led Harpool (5-1).

Crownover boys at Strickland

The Crownover Cowboys used a 39-point second half scoring barrage to race away for a 53-12 triumph.

The Cowboys (6-0) held a 14-9 halftime advantage before a 25-2 third-quarter run. Connor Newton led the balanced scoring attack for Crownover with 15 points, while Ivan Pena, Sutton Lee and Blake Courtney had eight each and Lane Allen finished with seven.

Crownover used a 14-0 first-quarter scoring run in the B-team game and increased the lead to 27-3 at halftime en route to a 59-9 win.

Alex Cedillo led the Cowboys (6-0) with 13 points, Jadyn Fritsch had nine, Blaine Bird and Isiah Pride had eight each.

Davonte Duncan scored five and Payton Campbell added four as Crownover won the C-team game 20-4.

Navo boys at McMath

The Navo Panthers used a consistent offensive effort to grab a early lead and pull away for a 44-32 victory.

Mark Nuby led the scoring for McMath (3-3) with 18 points. Tristian Strange added five points.

Julian Durazo had six points and Joseph Dominguez had four for McMath (1-5) in the B-team game, a 34-18 loss. The Panthers rallied in the fourth quarter of the C-team game to take a 21-19 victory. Jacob Mares had six points, and Christian Schmuhl had five for the Tigers (1-5).

McMath erupted for 27 second-half points to pull away for a 37-13 win.

The Lady Tigers (2-4) held a 10-5 halftime lead before outscoring Navo 27-8 in the second half. Maggie Wainscott led the way with 14 points while Kendyle Hall had seven points and handed out eight assists.

In the B-team game, Navo got off to a fast start and coasted to a 32-4 win. The Lady Panthers outscored McMath 10-0 in the second half of the C-team game for a 12-2 win.
