The Crownover Lady Cowboys eighth-grade "A" team used a huge third quarter to break open a tight game and pull away for a 34-12 victory over the Myers Lady Titans on Thursday night.

Crownover (4-4) held a 10-7 lead at halftime before outscoring the Lady Titans 18-2 in the third.

Jessica Hall led the scoring for Crownover with 12 and Kenzie Cogdell added six.

Crownover used a stellar defensive performance, holding Myers scoreless for the first three quarters, to take a 22-3 B-team victory. Kendall Mitchell led the defensive effort while Madeline Landstad led the Lady Cowboys (5-2) with 11 points.

Crownover also recorded a lopsided win in the C-team game, 24-5. Alondra Rivera led Crownover (3-3) with eight points and Alex Woodfin finished with four.

Myers did not submit a game report.

Myers boys at Crownover

The unbeaten Myers Titans (8-0) grabbed an early lead over the Crownover Cowboys and stayed in front for a 49-44 victory.

Jace Wilson led the Cowboys (4-4) with 12 points, Chandler Pullam had 10 and Hudson Grahm eight.

Crownover's fourth-quarter rally in the B-team game fell short as Myers hung on for a 43-42 victory. Eastyn Kinderknecht led the Cowboys (5-3) with 12 points, and Dirk Falkenhagen and Braden Vallejo had seven apiece.

In the C-team game, Crownover (8-0) outscored Myers 17-4 over the second and third quarters to pull away for a 27-11 victory. Jacob Amriz had 10 points and JB Byrd had nine for the Cowboys.

Little Elm girls at McMath

The McMath Lady Tigers used a strong overall performance and scoring advantages in the first and third quarters to build a lead against Little Elm in a 30-25 victory.

Abby Folsom, Grace Fleitman and Kanisia Haley led McMath (6-2) with eight points apiece.

Little Elm used a fourth-quarter rally, outscoring McMath 15-2, to take a 34-25 victory in the B-team game. Abby Cole led McMath (5-3) with 12 points, Kalyn Cardona had seven and Margaret Nicholson six.

Nadia Brown scored four points for the Lady Tigers in the "C" team's 16-8 loss to Little Elm.

Myers boys at Crownover

The Crownover Cowboys opened up a 10-point first-quarter lead and went on for a 34-21 victory over the Myers Titans.

Peyton Bowen led the unbeaten Cowboys (8-0) with eight points, Sutton Lee had seven and Ivan Pena six.

Jadyn Fritsch scored 10 points, Ryan Yaites had six and Cael Perkins five as the Cowboys defeated Myers 33-9 in the B-team game.

Myers took a 26-13 victory in the C-team game. Joshua Weatherford led Crownover with four points.

Calhoun girls at Harpool

The Harpool Lady Longhorns improved to 14-0 with a 60-2 victory over the Calhoun Lady Cougars.

Madison Lumsden led the Lady Horns with 16 points, Ashlin Crabtree had 11 and Katelyn Jones and Summer Shuster had seven apiece.

Crownover girls at Myers

The Crownover Lady Cowboys pulled out to a 17-point first-quarter lead and coasted to a 49-21 win over Myers.

Kyndal Stowers scored 13 and Hailey Evans had 11 as Crownover improved to 6-2.

The Lady Cowboys went on a 10-0 third-quarter run to break open the B-team game and score a 30-8 win over the Lady Titans. Hailey Hurd scored eight and G'yordan Curtis had six for Crownover (7-1).

The Lady Titans held off a late Crownover rally to win the C-team game 7-6.

McMath boys at Little Elm

The McMath Tigers were held to seven second-half points and fell to Little Elm 44-25.

Mark Nuby led the Tigers (4-4) with 10 points and Tristan Strange and Daniel Wen each had four.

In the B-team game, McMath fell behind by 13 points early and could not recover, suffering a 43-23 loss to Little Em. Nick Iaia had eight points, Ethan Hodkinson added seven and Ryan McClug six for Tigers (2-6).

Little Elm completed the sweep with a 36-19 win in the C-team game. Jonathan Weaver led McMath with 10 points.

Little Elm girls at McMath

The McMath Lady Tigers got off to a slow start in a 31-15 loss to Little Elm.

Kendyle Hall and Ayana Scott led McMath (3-5) with four points apiece.

McMath suffered a miserable offensive night in the B- and C-team games. The Lady Tigers dropped the B-team game 32-2, while the "C" team lost 23-2.
