Austin Hyde Park at Liberty Christian
Where: Warrior Stadium
Time: 7 p.m. Thursday
Records: Liberty Christian (1-3), Austin Hyde Park (3-1)
What’s on the line: Liberty Christian is 1-3, but the Warriors’ record doesn’t tell the full tale of coach Daniel Creek’s first four games with the program. The team has played three teams ranked at the top of Classes 3A and 4A (Brock, Melissa and China Spring) in addition to facing Plano Prestonwood — the No. 1 team in TAPPS. Liberty now will host Austin Hyde Park in its final game before district play begins next week. Look for the Warriors to continue to feed the ball to star RB Andre Washington, who had 35 touches last week, as they set out to take down the Panthers. Hyde Park is led by QB Ben Ballard, who has thrown for 863 yards and nine touchdowns through four games.
Calvary at Dallas Lakehill Prep
Where: Roger L. Perry Campus Field
Time: 7:30 p.m. Thursday
Records: Calvary (3-2, 0-1 TAPPS Six-Man Division I District I), Dallas Lakehill Prep (1-3, 0-1)
What’s on the line: Calvary fell 52-6 to Dallas Lutheran in its district opener last week, setting the team back after a 69-24 win over Forestburg two weeks ago. The Lions will look to bounce back against a Dallas Lakehill team that is coming off a 64-30 loss to Gainesville Lone Star North. Calvary is 3-2 and can put itself in a better position to compete among the district leaders with a win Thursday night.
