UNT tied for 5th after Day 1 at Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The North Texas men’s golf team began play in its final tournament of the fall season on Monday, playing the opening two rounds of the Little Rock Invitational to a 2-over, as the Mean Green will enter the final round on Tuesday in a tie for fifth place with Boise State.

The Mean Green went 4-over par in the opening round before shooting a 2-under in Round 2 and were led on the day by Sean Wilcox, who enters Tuesday’s final round at 2-under and tied for 10th after a 4-under-par 68 in Round 2. Tucker Allen shot a second-round 69 and sits at 1-under after the opening two rounds in a tie for 13th. Vicente Marzilio is tied for 25th at 1-over par along with Nikhil Gopal, who is competing as an individual. Marzilio led the way for the Mean Green in Round 1 with a 2-under 70, including an eagle on the Par-5 ninth hole.

Round 3 will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start
