UNT sits in 2nd after second round delayed

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The UNT women’s golf began play on Monday at the inaugural Olde Stone Intercollegiate at The Club at Olde Stone and sit in second place as the second round was postponed due to darkness with players having four or five holes left to play before beginning the third and final round on Tuesday. Play was set to resume at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start with continuous play going into the third round.

When play was suspended Monday evening, the Mean Green had the best second round of any team in the field and had climbed four spots from their standing after the opening round earlier in the day.

UNT was led on the first day by senior Audrey Tan, who was tied for second at 1-over par, while senior Patricia Sinolungan was tied for fourth at 2-over after being a late addition to the lineup. Tan shot an even-par 72 in the opening round to pace the Mean Green, while Sinolungan is currently leading the way in the second round at 1-under with three holes left to play.

UNT enters Tuesday’s second-round conclusion two shots behind leader Coastal Carolina, who has the individual leader, Tiffany Arafi, who’s six shots up on Tan, and one other golfer at 5-under par.
