AUBREY — Aubrey pulled out a 50-38 win over Sanger Tuesday night at home in a District 11-4A matchup. The Lady Chaps improved to 13-10 overall and 2-0 in district play and were led by Kaia Saylor’s 16 points.

For the Lady Indians (7-19, 1-1), Chloe Malone lead the team in scoring with 14 in the loss.

CORINTH — The Denton girls were able to overcome a 12-3 deficit after one quarter against Lake Dallas to tie the game at 35 at the end of regulation. In overtime, though, the Lady Falcons shut out the Lady Broncos 10-0 to take the 45-35 win at home.

Denton (17-7, 3-3 in District 8-5A) was led by Kylie Scott’s 19 points while Lake Dallas (16-10, 3-2 in District 8-5A) countered with Josephine Elliott who had 13 points and Jorja Elliott who finished with 10.

LITTLE ELM — The Lady Bengals locked Justin Northwest down Tuesday night, defeating the Lady Texans 42-25 without allowing double digits in a single quarter on defense.

Braswell (15-7, 3-2 in District 8-5A) had two players in double digit scoring with Kamryn Gibson’s 15 points and Aminah Hall’s 12.

The Calvary girls pounced on Ovilla Christian, outscoring the visitors 21-8 in the opening quarter. From there, Denton Calvary cruised to a 57-37 win at home.

Denton Calvary was led by two players with big nights in Gracie Sammons who dropped 22 points and Kinley Thompson who pitched in 15 of her own.

DECATUR — Krum opened its district season with a narrow win against Decatur, 37-29. The Lady Wildcats only led by three entering the fourth quarter, but outscored Decatur 12-7 in the final frame to secure the win.

Krum did not have one player in double figures but used five players with five or more points to come away with the win.

LITTLE ELM — The Braswell Bengals were unable to match the balanced attack of Justin Northwest as they ended up falling to the Texans 58-45.

Northwest (18-6, 3-0) had four in double digits and were led by Avery Anderson’s 18 points. For Braswell (23-3, 2-2), Cam Smith and MJ Leslie were the lone double-digit scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Calvary fell to Ovilla Christian, and one quarter stood out. It was the third quarter when Denton Calvary was outscored 22-7. In the other three quarters, Ovilla Christian only outscored Denton Calvary by one point.

Regardless, the final result was a 52-36 loss for Calvary, which was led by Luke Wakeland’s 12 points and Cohen Thomson’s 11.

CORINTH — Denton’s offense had one of its best showings of the season, posting at least 15 points in every quarter en route to a 73-59 win over Lake Dallas on the road.

Lake Dallas’ (7-11, 0-3 in District 8-5A) offense was led by Austin Shephard who had 17 points, but the Falcons were unable to slow the Broncos’ (3-19, 1-3) offense.

LITTLE ELM — Ryan held a six-point lead entering the fourth quarter against Little Elm, but RJ Hampton and company put on a strong comeback to down the Raiders 71-69. Hampton led the way with 31 points, while Jay Wilson posted 27 of his own for Ryan.

Ryan (11-7, 1-3 in District 8-5A) returns to the court to take on Lake Dallas at home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
