Guyer closed out the Lake Cities tournament with two wins, beating Arlington Lamar 9-8 and Hebron 5-3.

Guyer was down 7-4 against Lamar going into the top of the fourth, before picking up four runs to take the lead. Carson Ozmer led from the plate with a two-run home run.

Guyer also faced an early deficit against Hebron before picking up three runs in the third to take the lead. Kyle Gscheidle had six strikeouts from in the circle in the victory.

Guyer will play next in the Guyer/Flower Mound tournament starting on Thursday.

Border Olympics

LAREDO — Argyle took an early lead in a blowout 10-2 win over Laredo in the Eagles’ final game of the Border Olympics tournament. Five different pitchers combined for six strikeouts for the Eagles, allowing only two hits and two runs in the victory. After scoring two runs in the first, a huge six-run second inning by the Eagles put the game well out of reach. Alex Gonzales had two RBIs in the victory.

Argyle will play next at the Collin County tournament starting Thursday.

Northwest ISD Tournament

FORT WORTH — Braswell picked up two wins to close out the Northwest ISD tournament, beating Keller Central 13-5 and Birdville 13-4.

Gage Goodman had three strikeouts from the circle against Keller Central, while Tanner Landino led from the plate with two doubles and two RBIs. Jordan Ford had three strikeouts from the circle against Birdville, while Nic Bennett had four RBIs for the Bengals.

Ponder takes loss, tie

PONDER — Ponder fell to Trenton 8-7 in the close first game of their doubleheader before tying the second 11-11.

In the first game, the Lions took the lead 4-2 in the fifth inning but gave up three runs in the sixth and seventh. Despite scoring three in the bottom of the seventh, they found themselves short by the end of the game. Ben Rodgers led from the plate with two RBIs in the loss.

After giving up nine runs in the third inning of the second game, the Lions scored six of their own in the fourth. Logan Ivy, Ben Rodgers, Payton Smith and Bryce Brockett each had two RBIs in the game.

Ponder will play next in the Bells tournament starting on Thursday.

Tina Minke Tournament

Ryan went 1-1 on the last day of the Tina Minke Tournament, beating Wichita Falls Rider 5-1 before losing to Liberty Christian 7-4. Ryan took an early lead off a Rider error and added three more in the third inning to take home the victory. Despite a solid hitting effort by the Lady Raiders against Liberty Christian, a three-run homer put Ryan at a 7-2 deficit in the fourth that they couldn’t recover from by the end of the game.

Guyer picked up two big wins to close out Ryan’s Tina Minke Tournament, shutting out Amarillo Tascosa 13-0 and beating Cedar Hill 17-1. Ranci Willis struck out five in two innings pitched against Tascosa. Kate Wentworth led from the plate with a grand slam in the top of the fourth, and Eva Myers brought in one run on a triple in the first. Willis added seven strikeouts against Cedar Hill, while Kara DeBruin hit a grand slam, and Bailey Anderson and Abby Willis each had a home run. Guyer will host Lake Dallas on Tuesday.

BT Memorial Tournament

LAKE TRAVIS — Pilot Point fell to Wolfforth Frenship 13-3 and Fort Worth Arlington Heights 10-4 on the final day of play in the Dripping Springs BT Memorial Tournament.

Pilot Point fell to an early deficit in both games. Christine Billmeier led the hitting effort in both games, with a home run and three RBIs against Frenship and a home run and two RBIs against Arlington Heights.

Pilot Point will play next against Bowie on Tuesday.
