ALLEN — Cam Brown went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and allowed just three runs in six innings on the mound Thursday to lead Flower Mound to a 12-3 win over Guyer in Game 1 of a best-of-three Class 6A bi-district playoff series.

The Wildcats struck first in the top of the first when Jordan Beminio’s RBI single scored Kellan Landstad, who led off with a single to center field. But Flower Mound answered with a run of its own in the bottom half and added three in the second to take control of the game, forcing Guyer to play from behind the rest of the night.

The Jaguars went on to score a combined eight runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth to pull away while managing 14 hits off three Wildcat pitchers — Carson Ozmer, Chad Aune and Dylan Parham.

Guyer had 10 hits but struggled to keep pace while stranding nine runners on base.
