Veterans Hall of Fame

U.S. Air Force veteran Jere Delano sits at the Texas Veterans Hall of Fame Foundation table recently inside the Emily Fowler Central Library. The foundation was established to honor those who have served in the U.S. armed services. The display, which previously stood inside the Golden Triangle Mall, will remain prominently displayed inside the library through the beginning of August.

Members of the Texas Veterans Hall of Fame Foundation will host a meet-and-greet Saturday at the historic Green Valley School, 6900 FM2153 west of Aubrey.

The first session will go from 10 a.m. to noon, and the second session will run from 2 to 4 p.m.

Attendees will be able to learn more about the Veterans Hall of Fame project, including the first round of inductions planned for November. Plans for a memorial park in Denton are also underway. Numerous other topics will be discussed throughout the two sessions.

Members are also asking that veterans or their family members bring information, documents, photos and more to help build a database of Texas veterans.

Reservations are requested at texasveteranshalloffame.org/reply-form.

More information about this and other foundation events is available by contacting the group directly at texasveteranshalloffame.org/contact-us.
