James Berscheidt, the former chief of communications and marketing officer of Creighton University in Nebraska, is now the vice president for marketing and communication at the University of North Texas. 

Berscheidt has been in marketing and communication for nearly 20 years, and will be in charge of UNT's "brand strategy and aligning communication strategies" to help increase the university's national reputation. 

“Jim will be an incredible asset to our university, and I’m proud that someone of his caliber has agreed to lead our marketing and communications efforts, especially during such a crucial time when we are evaluating and seeking to rebrand our university,” UNT President Neal Smatresk said in a press release. 

Berscheidt started the job Tuesday, replacing Kelley Reese, who has served as interim vice president since June.
