Texas Home Health, a home health care company, created a $50,000 scholarship program at Texas Woman's University to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary.
The program is supporting 20 students who are studying nursing and rehabilitative therapy at TWU's Denton, Dallas and Houston campuses with $2,500 scholarships.
The program will continue into the spring and fall of 2020, according to a news release.
“This gift of nursing scholarships from a community partner validates the strong academic reputation of our nursing programs,” said Rosalie Mainous, new dean of the TWU College of Nursing, in a news release. "Texas Home Health enables the pursuit of a degree in nursing, which in turn supports the pipeline of outstanding TWU graduates prepared to meet the health care needs of Texas communities.”
The company serves 36,000 patients across the state and is owned by national provider AccentCare.
