A federal judge sentenced a Denton County sex offender to 50 years in federal prison Friday, months after he pleaded guilty to a child exploitation charge.
Authorities began investigating 36-year-old Adam Donald Bennett of Sanger in 2018 after officials said he started chatting with an undercover officer online.
In his conversation with the officer, Bennett admitted to committing sexual acts with minors, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas.
Bennett, who was a registered sex offender after pleading guilty to indecency with a child by exposure in 2013, sent the officer a video of himself abusing a child, officials said.
Bennett pleaded guilty to a federal charge of sexual exploitation of children in April.
