The Texas Department of Transportation has proposed widening a portion of FM2931 between East University Drive and Spring Hill Road.

The Texas Department of Transportation will host public hearings starting on June 30 to garner input on widening a portion of FM2931 to six total lanes.

The in-person hearing takes place June 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Monaco Elementary School, 9350 Cape Cod Blvd.

TxDOT will also offer a virtual hearing — which is not live — from 5:30 p.m. June 30 to 11:59 p.m. July 15 on the Keep It Moving Dallas webpage.

TxDOT proposes to widen about 6.4 miles of FM2931 between East University Drive (U.S. Highway 380) and Spring Hill Road. The project includes complete reconstruction of the already two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane urban roadway with two turn lanes, totaling six lanes.

The project would require TxDOT to acquire 45.9 acres of right of way on both sides of FM2931.

Individuals in need of a language interpreter or disability accommodations for the in-person meeting can contact the Dallas District Public Information Office at 214-320-4480 by 4 p.m. Thursday, June 23.
