Plano police said Tuesday afternoon they have closed their case into whether Denton County Republican Suzanne Blackstone stole a resident’s yard sign that was in support of a Plano City Council candidate she opposes.
Police said on Monday Blackstone was being investigated. On Tuesday, a department spokesman said the resident did not want to press charges against Blackstone, so the matter was put to an end.
Blackstone, a Denton County precinct chairwoman who has served as an election judge overseeing a polling place, was caught on camera removing a sign in support of Ron Kelley, who is running against the candidate Blackstone supports.
Blackstone declined to comment.
