Officials at Sanger-based Born 2 Be Therapeutic Equestrian Center announced the group raised nearly $10,000 at its "Raise the Barn" banquet in mid-July, bringing them halfway to their goal of raising at least $60,000 for a permanent home for the facility.

Born 2 Be provides safe and affordable horseback riding and carriage driving programs for adults and children with disabilities.

The nonprofit opened in 2012 and has operated out of leased facilities in Aubrey, Pilot Point and Sanger. The permanent home is expected to provide long-term stability and sustainability to the group's programs.

Born 2 B's next fundraising events include participating in North Texas Giving Day on Sept. 19 and a series of trail obstacle challenges for able-bodied horse owners this fall.
