Denton traffic operations workers Brian Foutch, left, and Mark Bullard remove a “Photo Enforced” traffic sign Wednesday at the intersection of North Bell Avenue and East Hickory Street. Crews began disconnecting all red-light cameras in Denton on Wednesday, just two days after city leaders said city courts will not enforce any outstanding tickets from the cameras after Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill to outlaw their use. No further tickets will be issued, and all outstanding tickets will likely be forgiven, Denton City Council members said. City spokesman Ryan Adams confirmed all cameras were offline as of Wednesday afternoon and said the signs that warn of $75 fines will all be removed by the end of the week.
