Folks in Denton County have taken the phrase “season of giving” to new heights this year.
The county is ranked fourth in the state for charitable donations, according to a new analysis by SmartAsset. The study examined data from the Internal Revenue Service to see where residents were giving the most. Analysts measured how much people donated as a percentage of their net income and the proportion of people in each county who make charitable donations.
Contributions made up 1.6% of income among Denton County residents, while over 12% itemized charitable contributions on tax returns.
