Blotter

A call about an unconscious person Wednesday morning near Joyce Lane and Gardenview Street turned out to be a man with a pistol sleeping in the driver seat of a car that was not in gear, according to a police report.

Officers put the car in park and grabbed the pistol. They said the man was intoxicated, the report states. And during a search of the vehicle, officers found cocaine, methamphetamine and pills, the report says.

The report did not note what the man said he was doing with the gun.

“He didn’t say much,” a Denton police spokeswoman said Thursday.

Police arrested the man and charged him with unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated, the report shows.
