The U.S.Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Denton County Soil and Water Conservation District invite the public to attend their annual Local Working Group meeting next week.
The meeting will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Joseph A. Carroll Building, 401 W. Hickory St. in Denton.
The purpose of the meeting is to bring conservation stakeholders together to discuss local conservation issues and concerns and to set local conservation priorities to help farmers, ranchers and other private landowners better conserve and manage their natural resources.
The meeting will also update attendees on recent conservation programs and allow for an opportunity to collect public input to help guide future conservation activities. Farmers, ranchers and others interested in obtaining federal technical and financial assistance to improve private land are invited to participate.
