Fairhaven retirement home, a building designed by famed Denton architect O'Neil Ford, at 2400 N. Bell in Denton will soon be renovated to its previous glory.

Denton residents can preview the soon-to-be reincarnated Fairhaven retirement home Friday at 4:30 p.m. during a restoration ceremony. Designed by famed Denton architect O’Neil Ford, the historic retirement center served the Denton community for 42 years before it shuttered in 2007.

Justin Hobson of Austin-based real estate company Investcor said he wanted to host a public ceremony to spread awareness about Fairhaven’s imminent revival.

“I think the local community is very excited to have [Fairhaven] cleaned up and have it be something they can finally be proud of,” he said.

Beverages and snacks from Freddy’s Tacos food truck will be available. Hobson said he also expects several city officials to attend.

“I want everyone to see where the building is now so they can come back when it’s finished and be blown away,” he said.

Fairhaven is located at 2400 N. Bell Ave.
