A 62-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with criminal mischief after she allegedly threw a chair through a window at Clayton House Motel, in the 1100 block of West University Drive, according to a police report.
Police said they were told the woman was arguing with her daughter because her daughter had kicked her out of the motel room, the report shows. The woman allegedly threw the chair because she was mad about being kicked out, police said.
Police reported that a doorknob and a wall were also damaged.
3000 block of Interstate 35 — Officers arrested a 31-year-old man Tuesday afternoon after responding to a call in which someone reported the man was running into walls and banging his head on things, according to a police report.
Police said the man told officers he had smoked methamphetamine the day before, and because officers saw him grunting, sweating, tensing up and screaming, they took him to jail, charging him with public intoxication, the report states.
500 block of Fort Worth Drive — A man told police Tuesday morning that he helped a woman move her belongings in exchange for $460, but when he cashed the check she allegedly gave him, it bounced, according to a police report.
The man told police the woman has not answered his phone calls after he learned from Wells Fargo Bank that the check bounced.
From 7 a.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday:
- The Denton County Sheriff’s Office handled 900 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies it serves.
- The Denton Police Department handled 182 service and officer-initiated calls and made seven arrests.
- Denton firefighters responded to 25 medical calls and three vehicle crashes.
