Narcotics investigators arrived at a house Wednesday on North Locust Street to serve a search warrant and found patrol officers already on the scene responding to a domestic disturbance call, police said.

Two people said to be fighting were arrested on charges of manufacturing/delivering a controlled substance after police said they found cocaine and Alprazolam inside the home, in the 2300 block of North Locust Street, according to Denton police.

A 25-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were arrested and taken to Denton City Jail late Wednesday afternoon.

In the domestic disturbance call, police said the man told officers the woman hit him in the face with a broken fan plate.

Police spokeswoman Khristen Jones said it was a coincidence that the investigators and patrol officers were both at the location.

Neither the man nor the woman was charged in the domestic disturbance. After a search of the house, police said they found the drugs, scales, small plastic bags and other paraphernalia, Jones said.

Both were still in the Denton jail Thursday afternoon.
