A lawn mower reported stolen Friday morning in northern Denton was found about 2 miles away with someone who appeared to be transporting stolen goods in the 700 block of Rose Street, according to a police report.
Police responded to a suspicious person call Friday morning at a home on Rose Street. The caller believed a person at the residence was transporting stolen goods, according to the report.
An officer spoke with four people at the scene and asked about various items that were sitting in plain sight outside near a vehicle, according to the report.
One of the individuals, a 34-year-old man, told police he got copper wiring — one of the items — from his boss. Police confirmed the man had outstanding warrants and arrested him.
The report shows the other items, including a lawn mower, were not claimed by any of the other individuals.
Another officer at the police department informed the initial officer about a theft report they had just taken involving a lawn mower.
That report showed a 39-year-old man reported his lawn mower was taken from his vehicle overnight in the 300 block of Coronado Drive.
Police determined the lawn mower matched the theft report and called the owner to retrieve it.
500 block of West University Drive — Police placed a 33-year-old woman in a wrap restraint before taking her to the city jail because she was being combative Friday evening, according to a police report.
Callers told police a woman was screaming and not making any sense. She became combative and tried to fight officers when they tried to detain her, the report states.
The report says she refused to get in a police car and cooperate with officers. She was arrested and charged with non-alcoholic public intoxication and resisting arrest.
3400 block of Joyce Lane — A complainant told police his neighbor pushed him to the ground when he confronted him about “negative things” he was saying about the complainant, according to a police report.
Another neighbor, who was a witness, said the first neighbor offered the complainant a sandwich. They said the neighbor also offered a sandwich to multiple neighbors.
The report says the complainant became confrontational after being offered a sandwich and tripped over the threshold of the door to the apartment.

500 block of West Sycamore Street — Police arrested a 26-year-old woman on an assault charge after her boyfriend told police she scratched, hit and bit him early Friday, according to a police report.
Police said the boyfriend, 22, had multiple scratches on his face and an injury to his head that he said was a bite mark. The woman also had a scratch near her eye believed to have occurred during a struggle, according to the report.
The victim said he only attempted to stop his girlfriend from harming him and didn’t harm her. The woman was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury, family violence.
From 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday, the Denton Police Department handled 206 service and officer-initiated calls and made 15 arrests.
