Denton police on Sunday night arrested a 54-year-old man who told police he was “tapping” on a business’s window with his knife, according to a police report.
Police were called and told somebody was standing in front of the business, located in the 100 block of Fry Street, and holding a knife, the report shows.
Officers arrived and found the man not far from the business. The report shows the man allegedly threw something over a fence, which an officer hopped and found what was reported to be a methamphetamine pipe. Police said they found a baggie of meth on the man as well.
Police said the man told them he was tapping the window with the knife but did not point it at anybody, the report shows.
The man was arrested and taken to jail on a possession of a controlled substance charge.
400 block of Wainwright Street — A woman said her boyfriend was robbed by about two or three other men Saturday afternoon, according to a police report.
The caller said her gun was stolen during the robbery. No other details were made available, and the investigation is ongoing.
3000 block of Interstate 35 — Police arrested a man Sunday night who said he was cut by a person who was attacking him with a broken bottle, according to a police report.
The man was jailed after he was treated at a Denton hospital, police said.
Police said the man had a parole violation when he made threats to the person who allegedly attacked him.
The police did not make contact with the person who allegedly attacked the man.
800 block of East Windsor Drive — Police arrested a 26-year-old man Sunday night and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police said he admitted to chasing a man with a knife and barbecue fork, according to a police report.
1500 block of South Loop 288 — On Saturday night, a man allegedly told an employee at a Kroger, “This is your last night on earth,” after the man said the employee was being disrespectful to his wife when the employee told the woman she could not return an item because customer service was closed, according to a police report filed Sunday afternoon.
1800 block of South Loop 288 — Police arrested a passenger Sunday morning and charged him with possession of marijuana and cited the driver for possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer reported seeing the vehicle go straight in a left-only lane, according to a police report.
Police said they found marijuana, a pipe and rolling papers in the vehicle. Police said the passenger, a 21-year-old man, told them all the marijuana was his, the report shows.
