Authorities say 17-year-old Lermont Stowers-Jones is the boy who was found dead in Hickory Creek near the Old Alton Bridge on Tuesday.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office was expected to begin an autopsy Wednesday morning. The Argyle Fire District said Tuesday that Stowers-Jones was found dead in the waters of Hickory Creek near the 3800 block of Old Alton Road.

Michael Lugo, the assistant fire chief for Argyle, said Tuesday that the Stowers-Jones reportedly jumped from the bridge before noon on Monday. His body was found at about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday. His time of death is listed as 1:12 p.m. Tuesday.

His cause of death has not been determined by the authorities as of Wednesday evening.

3100 block of Bandera Street — One subject of an active warrant for assault by contact was tracked to the Howard Johnson by Wyndham hotel on Tuesday morning.

Upon locating the subject, police spoke to the man and another woman inside the room. Officers said they were given consent to search the room and found an assortment of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

According to police, between 1 and 4 grams of crack cocaine, less than 2 ounces of marijuana and digital scales, often used to weigh small amounts of narcotics, were found throughout the room.

Both occupants were charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, and the woman was charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.
