Update Monday 10:15 a.m.:
Officials identified Joseph Patrick Whelan, 53, of Corinth, as the individual killed after being struck Monday evening by a Denton County Transportation Authority A-train in the 2300 block of Brinker Road.
Whelan was pronounced dead at a Denton hospital. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner listed the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries due to the collision.
An investigation into what caused the incident was underway Monday night, police said.
