Some Denton ISD campuses have opened applications for a districtwide, full-day prekindergarten program dubbed “Denton ISD Thrive by 5.”

Adkins, Alexander and Borman Elementary schools are among those with open applications, and registration will open up across the district in late July.

Not all students are eligible, and children with limited English proficiency are welcome.

Registration events will be hosted at each of the open campuses in the coming weeks. Those who already are registered are not required to attend any of the events.

To enroll, potential students must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2019.

Parents looking to enroll their children must bring a photo ID, their child’s birth certificate and social security card, proof of residency and immunization record.

Families of potential students must be able to bring one of the following to qualify for the program: current pay stub, official military papers, Star of Texas certificate, McKinney-Vento status verification or a Department of Family Protection Services verification letter.

Borman Elementary will have two registration events from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 29 and 30. Both events will close from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch, and both will be held at 1201 Parvin St. For more information about this event, call 940-369-2500.

A district-wide registration event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The event will be at the Central Services Building, 1307 N. Locust St. For more information about this event, call 940-369-0448.
