Trinity Presbyterian Church continues its community film screenings that shed light on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and relationship.
The event, "The Nakba at 71: Exodus Palestine," starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2200 N. Bell Ave. The evening begins with a screening of 1948: Creation and Catastrophe and then moves to a Middle Eastern dinner — Iftar, or the meal that breaks the Ramadan fast — at 8:30 p.m.
The evening marks the 71st anniversary of the Nakba, the event in which the state of Israel was created and a majority of Palestinians were dispossessed from their land. The screening and dinner are free, and sponsored by the People for Justice in Palestine and Israel.
