9/11 anniversary

The Denton High School Key Club spent several hours Sunday putting up flags in front of the school to commemorate the nearly 3,000 victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Tuesday marks the 17th anniversary of the attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, and each flag includes the name of someone who died. Key Club President Caden Young, a senior at Denton High, said this is the second year the group has put out flags to mark the 9/11 anniversary. “It’s important to remember events like this, not just for the victims but also for the heroes who sacrificed their lives to save others,” he said.
