French pianist and organist Francis Vidil, a pianist and organist, recently launched a Victorian piano concert series to help raise money to maintain and possibly restore the historic Central Christian Church in Pilot Point.
Vidil acquired a 19th century Weber square grand piano for the festival. He performed the first concert of the series on the piano on Mother's Day, May 12.
The series will raise money to benefit the iconic turn-of-the-century church building in historic Pilot Point. Vidil, a transplant from France to Pilot Point, and was charmed by the church's architecture.
The series, titled the Victorian Piano Festival, will present an evening of Halloween classics at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church, 201 E. Liberty St. Audiences are invited to wear costumes. Ticket prices are to be announced.
