Country and Western swing duo Bonnie and Nick Norris mean to keep their summer date with Twilight Tunes tonight on the downtown Denton Square. The brother-and-sister band is shown here at the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival in April.

Twilight Tunes wraps up for the 2019 summer season with a concert by local favorites, Bonnie & Nick Norris. The final show of the series is 6:30 p.m. Thursday on the downtown Denton courthouse on the Square.

The brother and sister duo plays toe-tapping, partner-twirling Western swing. Bonnie Norris is the primary singer of the band, and lays down some mean fiddle work as well. Nick Norris keeps things swinging on guitar.

Expect a few renditions of classic Texas swing numbers — and some numbers the pair has created on their own. But this is Denton and the Norrises are versatile, so you might get some jazz with your swing.

Twilight Tunes is a free concert series. Shows take place rain or shine. In the event of heavy rains on Wednesdays or Thursdays, visitors can find out if the concert has been moved to a rain location by following Denton Main Street’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, or by checking on the organization’s website at www.dentonmainstreet.org/twilight-tunes at noon the day of the concert.

Attendees are encouraged to dine at or get takeout from nearby restaurants before or after the concerts. Some Thursdays, a bounce house is on the courthouse lawn for families.
