Greater Lewisville Community Theatre will open the Larry L. King and Peter Masterson musical The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas on June 7.
Rebecca Lowrey directs the musical about the legendary brothel that entertained a colorful cast of characters from the 1840s to 1973. The “Chicken Ranch” is protected by a friendly sheriff, and it’s a favorite of politicians, football teams and an errant husband or five. Then a crusading do-gooder Houston radio commentator and his conservative audience threaten the Chicken Ranch.
The show runs June 7-20, and performances will be at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Performances are at the theater at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance and parking are in the rear off Elm Street.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for 65 and over and 18 and under. For more information or reservations, call the box office at 972-221-7469.
