The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre opens J.M. Barrie’s Dear Brutus this weekend.
In the play, a group of guests are warned away from the woods (which don’t seem to exist in this neighborhood) on Midsummer Eve. Legend says the woods sometimes appear, leaving an odd assembly tempted and anxious: a cheating husband and his wife, the object of the cheating husband’s desire, a down-at-heart artist and the wife who despises him, an indolent lady and a delightful old couple. The forest appears, and in they go. What happens within leaves a trace on them all.
Performances are 8 p.m. this Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, and April 12-13. Matinees are 3 p.m. this Sunday, April 7, and April 14. All performances are at the theater, 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. Parking is in the rear of the building, with an entrance on Elm Street.
Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for ages 60 and older and 18 and under. For reservations, visit www.glct.org or call 972-221-7469.
