Texas Sky, a Denton acoustic group that tackles bluegrass, gospel and classic rock, plays Twilight Tunes at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on the lawn of the Courthouse on the Square.

Texas Sky began as a casual jam session among friends — Susanne Coffey, Randy Cummings, Dave Lewis, Roddy Fuller and John Tompkins. By 2011, the jam session was a bluegrass band. Together, the musicians play traditional music from their own folksy point of view.

Twilight Tunes concerts take place rain or shine, but in the event of heavy rains on Wednesdays or Thursdays, visitors can find out if the concert has been moved to a rain location by following Denton Main Street’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, or by checking online at www.dentonmainstreet.org at noon the day of the concert.

Attendees are encouraged to dine at or get takeout from nearby restaurants before or after the concerts. Some Thursdays, a bounce house is on the courthouse lawn for families.

The concert series ends this year with a closing show June 27.

Up on June 20: The Dunashay Experience, rock ’n’ roll.
