Students collect school supplies for hospital

Aubrey students involved with the FFA collected and donated more than 500 items to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.

Donations included glue, colored pencils, scissors and more.

FFA chapters across the state participated in the service project. Donations were brought to the FFA state convention, which was held last week at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Thousands of items were collected during the convention, according to a FFA news release.

Brockett Elementary School

New principal named

Aubrey school board members approved Courtney Siggers as principal of Brockett Elementary School during a recent board meeting.

Siggers has been the school’s assistant principal for the past two years. She will replace Kari Abrams, who was recently approved to be principal of the new Jackie Fuller Elementary.

Siggers earned her undergraduate degree from Texas Woman’s University and her graduate degree from the University of North Texas.

Lake Dallas Middle School

State names campus as Healthy School

Lake Dallas Middle School was recognized as the first Healthy Texas school in Denton County.

The award is given through a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension program.
