This motorcycle vest is one of several items that will be on display as part of the new "Women in the Dallas LGBTQ Community" exhibit, presented by UNT Special Collections.

The University of North Texas Libraries Special Collections partners with the city of Dallas for a Pride Month exhibit that features the stories and images of women in Dallas’ LGBT community.

The exhibition runs through June 28 in the lobby of Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla St. The unique collection tells the stories of women — particularly women of color and transgender women — who fought for equal rights in Dallas and within the region’s gay rights groups.

The exhibit includes UNT’s new Lory Masters Collection, which highlights the Flying W Motorcycle Club — Dallas' first lesbian organization — as well as the Extra Mile Awards for activism in the lesbian community and the first professional women’s football team in Dallas, the Bluebonnets.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
