Morgan Grant, a doctoral student at Texas Woman's University, was named one of 10 Dallas-Fort Worth Albert Schweitzer fellows for 2019-20.
The fellowship program is designed to have scholars develop and implement service projects that address the root causes of health disparities in under-resourced communities.
Grant will develop a sexual health empowerment and education program to address prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections for minority and at-risk populations who are part of the LGBTQ community in the region. Then, the program will be implemented with the help of service organizations and community-based health programs.
Grant's doctorate degree will be in health promotion and kinesiology. He also holds a MBA from TWU.
