The Denton school board filled another position during Tuesday's regular board meeting.

Amanda Bomar was formally named principal of Pecan Creek Elementary School.

She takes the place of Lacey Rainey, who was recently promoted to area superintendent of academic programs — a position previously held by Daniel Lopez, who, in turn, will take over as executive director of human resources.

Lopez is replacing Tracy Johnson, who was declared assistant superintendent of human resources for Keller ISD in April.

Bomar's previous position as assistant principal of Wilson Elementary School has not yet been filled. She began her career in education as a sixth grade teacher in Crockett ISD in 2003 and joined Denton ISD as a fifth grade teacher in 2010.

She had served as assistant principal of Wilson Elementary since 2014.
