Donors fund Denton teachers’ projects
Through donations from several sources, three Denton ISD teachers received just over $877 for their respective projects.
Sandi Beck, a dyslexia therapist working with McMath Middle School, received more than $430 to purchase laptops and software to help students with dyslexia read alongside their peers.
Diana Olvera, a third grade bilingual teacher at Ryan Elementary School, got roughly $225 to help purchase laptops for students who don’t have regular access to computers at school or at home.
Nikki Montgomery-Lambert, a fifth grade language arts and social studies teacher with Wilson Elementary School, received nearly $220 to purchase 20 subscriptions to a Scholastic magazine and book club. She hopes the expanded classroom library will encourage literacy for her students.
