A special session of the Denton ISD Board of Trustees is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday so board members can discuss and potentially decide whether to enter into a partnership with open-enrollment charter schools.
The meeting will be at the Central Services Building, 1307 N. Locust St.
The partnership was made legal when Senate Bill 1882 was signed into law in June 2017.
Residents who are unable to attend can view a presentation that will be used Thursday morning on the district's website at www.dentonisd.org, and recordings of all meetings are posted to the district's YouTube channel at https://bit.ly/2TUxc02.
There is not a scheduled period for public comment, but those wishing to formally address the board will have opportunities at the next regular board meeting.
Although it has not been announced, the next board meeting is expected to take place at 6 p.m. March 26 at the Central Services Building.
