Denton County Public Health confirmed Thursday that another four residents’ deaths were caused by COVID-19.
The department conducts an investigation into each suspected COVID-19 death, so confirmation of such deaths often lags significantly behind the actual date of death.
DCPH released the following information about the four deceased:
- One Denton man in his 60s
- One Denton woman in her 60s
- One Flower Mound man in his 50s
- One Carrollton woman in her 50s
Confirmation of their deaths raised the countywide COVID death toll to 713.
County officials also confirmed another 202 county residents had tested positive for the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 by Thursday afternoon.
That put the cumulative number at 107,539 Denton County residents who had been infected with the virus at some point over the past 19 months.
Data included in the chart below is from Denton County Public Health, which estimated 11,613 county residents were still actively infected with the coronavirus Thursday. Data for the rolling average chart below comes from DCPH and an analysis from the Denton Record-Chronicle.
