This week, through Thursday, Denton County Public Health confirmed 402 new cases of COVID-19 and reported zero deaths from COVID-19 in the county. 

Denton County remains at a medium COVID-19 spread level under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's measurements, but cases continue to climb, with Denton County Public Health confirming 2,295 positive cases from July 16 to July 22.

DCPH also attributed five deaths to COVID-19, but those deaths didn't necessarily occur in the past week. An estimated 1,925 people recovered from the virus over the week, putting the active case total at 5,575.
