Drive-thru testing

Denton County Public Health employees administer a COVID-19 test during the county's first drive-thru testing clinic on May 2, 2020.

Denton County Public Health confirmed 1,409 additional COVID-19 cases during June 11-17, according to the department's weekly update.

DCPH also confirmed two COVID-19 deaths, though it isn't specified when those deaths occurred. The department estimates 926 residents recovered from the virus, resulting in 482 more active cases. The active case total is now estimated at 2,977.

Despite rising cases, Denton County remains in the "low" community level designation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which excludes it from mask recommendations.
